Simon joined Haseltine Lake in 1998, having previously worked for 7 years as an Examiner in the UK Patent Office where he handled applications in the electronics and telecommunications fields, he became a Partner in 2006. Simon qualified as a Chartered Patent Attorney in 2001 and now drafts and prosecutes applications in the telecommunications, electronic and computer architecture sectors, including those relating to MEMS technology, mobile communications, ultra-wideband systems, audio and video processing systems, medical devices and software related inventions.
Simon’s clients range from multinational companies having large patent portfolios, through to smaller companies and individuals. He assists them in developing and securing their intellectual property, including acquiring and licensing patents, as well as working with lawyers on litigation matters.
Simon frequently visits clients throughout Europe and the USA, in particular Pittsburgh and North Carolina. He is a council member of FICPI UK (Federation Internationale Des Conseils En Propriete Industrielle)and a sub-delegate member of FICPI ExCo.
