Haseltine Lake which currently operates as an unlimited partnership in the UK and Germany will become a limited liability partnership (LLP) with effect from 1 May 2009. From that date the unified UK and German businesses will become Haseltine Lake LLP incorporated under the provisions of the UK Limited Liability Partnerships Act 2000.
The LLP business structure is increasingly common among larger professional service firms in the UK and North America. Haseltine Lake believes this more modern business structure will provide a stable platform for the long-term growth of our business and will help us to attract and retain top-calibre professional staff in the future.
A further change is that from 1 May 2009, all renewals work (that is, all work relating to the renewal of granted or registered patents, trade marks, designs and utility models and to the payment of maintenance fees) will be undertaken by HL Renewals LLP, a separate limited liability partnership wholly-owned by Haseltine Lake LLP.
